In the January-May 2025 period, total exports were recorded at USD111.98 billion, while the January-May 2024 period was recorded at USD104.67 billion.

“The total export value during January-May 2025 increased by 6.98 percent compared to the same period last year. The main share of the increase in export value was contributed by the processing industry by 12 percent,” he said, in a BPS release in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

He detailed, the value of oil and gas exports was recorded at USD5.92 billion, down 11.26 percent. Meanwhile, the value of non-oil and gas exports rose by 8.22 percent to USD106.06 billion.

The main share of the cumulative increase in the value of non-oil and gas exports was contributed by the industrial and agricultural sectors.

The processing industry sector was the main driver of the surge in non-oil and gas export performance in the January-May 2025 period with a share of 12 percent.

“Exports of the processing industry sector that rose considerably included palm oil, non-ferrous base metals, organic basic chemicals sourced from agricultural products, semiconductors, and other electronic components, as well as butter, fat, and cocoa oil,” he said.
