End of February 2025, IDR 10.33 Trillion Foreign Capital Flows from RI

Jakarta – Bank Indonesia (BI) noted that in the last week of February 2025, foreign capital outflow from Indonesia amounted to IDR 10.33 trillion.

Based on transaction data compiled by BI for the period February 24 to 27, 2025, non-residents in the domestic financial market recorded a net sell of IDR 10.33 trillion.

Foreign capital flow in the fourth week of February 2025, recorded foreign capital outflows in the stock market, Government Securities (SBN) and Bank Indonesia Rupiah Securities (SRBI).

“Consisting of net selling of IDR7.31 trillion in the stock market, IDR1.24 trillion in the SBN market, and IDR1.78 trillion in Bank Indonesia Rupiah Securities (SRBI),” said Ramdan Denny Prakoso, Head of the BI Communication Department in an official statement quoted on March 2, 2025.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s 5-year credit default swaps (CDS) premium rose to 75.13 bps as of February 27, 2025, compared to 70.34 bps as of February 21, 2025.

Thus, during 2025, based on settlement data up to February 27, 2025, non-residents recorded a net sell of Rp15.47 trillion in the stock market, a net buy of Rp12.86 trillion in the SBN market and Rp7.67 trillion in SRBI.

In addition, BI also reported the development of the exchange rate from February 24 to 28, 2025. Noted, the exchange rate as of Thursday (27/2), the rupiah closed at the level (bid) of IDR 16,445 per US dollar, and opened at the level (bid) of IDR 16,520 per US dollar on Friday (28/2).

Then, the 10-year SBN yield rose to 6.88 percent on Thursday (13/2) and rose again to 6.93 percent on Friday (14/2).

Meanwhile, the dollar index (DXY) weakened to 107.24 and the 10-year UST (US Treasury) yield fell to 4.260 percent. (*)
