Jakarta – Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo said that during 2025 or until February 17, 2025, his party had purchased Government Securities (SBN) amounting to Rp32.46 trillion.
“As of February 17, 2025, BI has purchased IDR 32.46 trillion of Government Securities,” Perry said at the RDG press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Perry detailed, the purchase of SBN was through the secondary market of IDR 19.46 trillion and the primary market of IDR 12.99 trillion.
Perry explained, BI’s goal was to purchase SBN from the secondary market, namely to strengthen monetary operations and at the same time close synergy with government fiscal policy.
“Going forward, BI will continue to optimize the strategy of pro-market monetary operations to increase the effectiveness of monetary policy transmission, accelerate the deepening of the money market and forex market, encourage foreign capital inflows, in close coordination with government fiscal policy,” he added.

Previously, BI Governor Perry Warjiyo stated that he had met with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati to discuss the settlement of burden sharing or shared debt that will mature next year worth Rp100 trillion.
Perry explained that he had met Sri Mulyani bilaterally and agreed to the plan to issue and purchase SBN from the secondary market.
“The Minister of Finance has met with me bilaterally. In principle, we have also agreed. Agreed on the plan to issue SBN and also the plan to purchase SBN from the secondary market as part of the monetary operation plan,” Perry explained in the RDG Press Conference, Wednesday, December 19, 2024.
For information, based on Presidential Regulation Number 201 of 2024 concerning Details of the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2025, the government plans to issue SBN worth IDR 642.56 trillion.

BI has also agreed to purchase SBN from the secondary market with an amount higher than the amount of burden sharing maturing debt, which amounted to Rp150 trillion.
“BI has also agreed to purchase SBN from the secondary market. In fact, the amount is higher than the amount due for burden sharing. We plan as part of the monetary operation plan to buy SBN from the secondary market, which can even be Rp150 trillion,” he said. (*)
